Andrew Lockington’s scores to the blockbusters “JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH” and “JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND” received critical acclaim worldwide and contributed to the films grossing a combined $550,000,000 worldwide. Soon after the success of the first film, Andrew was hired to write the score for the Tom Hanks / Gary Goetzman produced “CITY OF EMBER“, starring Tim Robbins, Bill Murray and Saoirse Ronan.
Andrew’s early credits include the Sundance hits “TOUCH OF PINK“, “HOW SHE MOVE” and “LONG LIFE, HAPPINESS AND PROSPERITY” as well as the Toronto Film Festival favorites “SAINT RALPH” and “ONE WEEK“. It was Andrew’s unique orchestral score to Constantin’s dramatic thriller “SKINWALKERS” in 2007 that opened the door to big-budget studio films. Since then, Andrew’s won “BREAKTHROUGH COMPOSER OF THE YEAR” at the International Film Music Critics Awards, been nominated for ‘DISCOVERY OF THE YEAR’ at the World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent, Belgium, and received multiple BMI and SOCAN Film Music Awards for his music.
In 2013 Andrew joined the Percy Jackson franchise and composed the score for the second film in the series, “Sea Of Monsters”. 2013 also saw the release of Andrew’s eclectic score for the Golden Globe nominated “FRANKIE AND ALICE” starring Halle Berry and Stellan Skarsgaard, as well as the song Stalking Stars featured in Ben Affleck’s 2013 Best Picture winner “ARGO”.
Upcoming releases include an original song for Chris Evans (Captain America) directorial debut “BEFORE WE GO”, the score for the animated feature “PIRATE’S PASSAGE” starring Donald Sutherland, and two scores for Journey 2 helmer Brad Peyton – “INCARNATE” (Universal) and “SAN ANDREAS” (Newline / WB).
